Local Resident Makes Wyse Choice In World War II Project
After Mary Jo Wyse, a local resident, recently discovered a cache of 1940s-vintage letters beneath the flooring of her closet, a group of citizens has decided to build a collection of memorabilia from Cedar Cove's World War II days.
"The letters we found reminded us what amazing sacrifices the men and women of our community have made for our country,” explained Ms. Wyse. “We are proud of them and want to preserve their contributions for future generations."
The Cedar Cove Chronicle has agreed to be the repository of donated artifacts (until Jack Griffin's closet is full!). Drop off letters, garments (no underwear, please), newspapers, magazines and other memorabilia during regular office hours. Anyone in need of help transporting the artifacts may contact Mack McAfee at the Cedar Cove Fire Department. Mr. McAfee has graciously offered to help with this endeavor.

Extra Fiddler Tickets on Sale
After all the performances of Fiddler on the Roof sold out (practically overnight), the Cedar Cove Theater Company has announced that the cast has agreed to add two additional performances.
Some people credit swift ticket sales to the fact that Bob Beldon is starring in the production. While in college, Beldon studied with the former understudy of the lead in an off-Broadway production. His vocal prowess is legendary in Cedar Cove.
For tickets, contact the Playhouse, 555-SONG.

Will Jefferson Announces Art Walk
Looking for something to do Saturday evening? Will Jefferson, owner of the Harbor Street Art Gallery, has invited the public to an artwalk along Harbor and Pacific Boulevard, starting at the Gallery. Weather permitting, art from local residents will be displayed along the streets. Of special interest, he notes, is a new collection of collages by local artist Shirley Bliss.
Unfortunately, Ms. Bliss will not be able to attend the showing.
Wine (Washington State vintages) and cheese will be served. Will advises all who come to wear comfy shoes because of the steep incline of the street outside the Gallery.
The artwalk is free, but a $10 fee will be charged for wine and cheese.
